Formerly Status & Narrative

Foundations 3 is an 8-week course that builds the skills to create dynamic characters and compelling improvised stories. Through the study of status, power dynamics, physicality, and authentic human behaviour, you'll expand your character range and discover how relationships drive engaging scenes.

You'll also develop the tools to craft strong scene structure, learning how to establish a captivating beginning (the Platform) and uncover meaningful shifts (the Tilt) that propel scenes forward. Using games, scene work, genre exploration, and long-form narrative, you'll strengthen your ability to create stories that are both believable and entertaining.
